Ingredients
  Young turnips 10 Small
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Dripping 1⁄2 Ounce
  Flour 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Stock 1⁄2 Pint
  Pepper 1 Pinch
Directions

Peel the turnips.
Melt the fat and add the flour, cooking until it turns yellow, stirring well all the time.
Add the stock and stir until it boils.
Add the turnips and seasonings and cook gently until tender, about 45 minutes.
