Turnip Greens With Turnips
|Turnip greens||2 Pound|
|Bacon slices||6 , chopped|
|Water||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Turnips||3 Medium, peeled and sliced|
Wash greens thoroughly; drain.
Tear into bite size pieces.
Cook bacon in a Dutch oven until browned.
Drain bacon, and set aside; reserve drippings in Dutch oven.
Add greens and water.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Stir in turnips, sugar, and salt.
Cover and cook an additional 20 minutes or until desired degree of doneness.
Spoon into serving dish; sprinkle bacon over top.
