This vinegar turnip is a lovely marinated vegetable recipe. Prepared with a cooked marinade of vinegar with sugar, the turnips are allowed to marinate for a few days before serving. Used with salads, these turnips have a unique taste to them.
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vinegar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Peel turnips; slice very thin.
Put into bowl or, preferably, crock.
Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan; bring to boil.
Pour over turnips; mix gently but thoroughly.
Cover; refrigerate 5 days.
