Good Bye Turkey

  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Flour 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Mushrooms/2/3 cup canned mushrooms, undrained 1⁄2 Pound
  Light cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cubed cooked turkey 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cubed cooked ham 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Canned water chestnuts 8 Ounce
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
  Shredded swiss cheese 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Soft bread crumbs 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 3 Tablespoon

Cook onion in 2 tablespoons butter until softened but not brown. Add flour, salt, pepper, mushrooms, and cream. Cook and stir until thickened. Add turkey, ham, and water chestnuts. Adjust seasoning and add lemon juice if desired. Place in 2-quart casserole or baking pan. Mix Swiss cheese, bread crumbs, and melted butter. Sprinkle around edge of casserole. Bake about 25 minutes, or until lightly browned and bubbly hot.
