Pacific Tuna Surprise
|Sliced onion||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sliced celery||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Green pepper||1 Large|
|Canned pineapple chunks||13 1⁄2 Ounce|
|Chicken broth||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||2 Teaspoon|
|Canned tuna||14 Ounce|
|Sliced water chestnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Canned chow mein noodles||3 Ounce|
Heat butter in large skillet; add onion, celery and green pepper.
Cook just until tender.
Drain pineapple; reserve syrup.
Combine reserved syrup and cornstarch; add chicken broth, soy sauce and salt.
Pour into skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth.
Add tuna, water chestnuts and pineapple; simmer, covered, until heated through.
Serve over noodles.
