Brittany Turnips

Ingredients
  Baby turnips 2 Pound
  Onions 5 Ounce
  Green bacon rind 1 Tablespoon
  Streaky ordinary bacon 1 Tablespoon
  Mixed herbs 1 Bunch (100 gm)
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm)
  Tomato puree 2 Tablespoon
  Stock 2 Tablespoon
  Toasted bread/Fried bread 2 Small
Directions

Peel the turnips, and boil them for 15 minutes in salted water.
Meanwhile slice the onions, and brown them in a frying-pan with some diced pieces of bacon and bacon rind.
Add the bunch of mixed herbs, garlic, peppercorns, tomato puree, and.some stock.
When the onions are soft and mushy, press them through a sieve or food mill to make a puree.
The turnips, which you have taken out of water and drained, are now simmered for about 20 minutes in the onion puree.
Serve with toasted or fried bread.
