Shanghai Chop Suey
|Fresh pork||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Lean veal||1 Pound|
|Celery stalks||2 Large|
|Mushrooms||2 Can (20 oz)|
|Bean sprouts||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Chinese vegetables||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chow mein noodles||1 Can (10 oz)|
Place pork and veal cubes in skillet; brown in fat.
Brown onions with cubes until tender.
Place in large kettle; add enough water to partially cover.
Add cel- ery, molasses, mushrooms, bean sprouts, Chinese vegetables and rice; mix lightly.
Simmer until cubes are tender.
Serve with noodles.
