Texas Size Biscuits
|Flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Baking powder||4 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cream of tartar||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Shortening||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
Preheat oven to 450°.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt; cut in shortening.
Add milk and egg; stir until moist.
Knead 8 or 10 times on lightly floured surface.
Roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness.
Cut with biscuit cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes.
