Texas Spicy Wiener Sauce
|Water||8 Cup (128 tbs)|
|Beef hot dog||8 Ounce, ground|
|Cornstarch||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), dissolved in water|
|Paprika powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Chilli powder||1 Tablespoon|
|White vinegar/Apple cider vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sea salt/Kosher salt||1 Teaspoon, to taste|
|Onion powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|White pepper powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Oregano powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cinnamon powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dried thyme leaves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Red pepper flakes||1 Teaspoon|
|Black peppercorns||To Taste, crushed|
1) In a pan add all the ingredients except the cornstarch and bring to a boil and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
2) After 30 minutes slowly add the cornstarch mixture, stirring constantly to thicken the sauce. Bring back to a boil, and keep stirring.
3) Taste along the way, adjusting the salt or pepper as you like it.
4) Serve on your favorite hotdog, with brown mustard, diced onion, in a steamed hotdog bun.
This sauce will be thin and will thicken as it cools down.
Best served with hot steamed buns.
