California Style Marinated Halibut
|Fresh lime juice||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Salad oil||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Oregano leaves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Crushed red pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Canned whole green chilies||2 , seeded and cut crosswise into strips|
|Halibut steaks||4 Small (Each 3/4 Inch Thick)|
1. In large glass or stainless-steel bowl, combine all ingredients. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours, turning halibut steaks occasionally.
2. About 30 minutes before serving, preheat broiler if manufacturer directs. Place steaks on rack in broiling pan, reserving marinade. Broil 8 to 10 minutes, until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, spooning or brushing marinade occasionally on steaks.
