Ingredients
  Ground lean pork 1 Pound
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
  Mace 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Cornstarch 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Pastry 1 (For A Two Crust 8 Inch Pie)
Directions

1. In a saucepan combine pork, seasonings, cornstarch and water. Cover and simmer thirty minutes. Uncover and cook ten minutes more. Remove garlic.
2. Preheat oven to hot (425° F.).
3. Line an eight-inch pie pan with pastry; pour in the mixture and cover with remaining pastry. Press edges together and prick top to allow escape of steam.
4. Bake the pie ten minutes, reduce heat to 350° F. and bake thirty minutes longer.
