Harvest torte is a fresh and delightful dessert made with tart apples and california walnuts combined along with flour and dates. Baked to perfection the harvest torte is a true country dessert and is best served with whipped cream.
|Diced unpared tart apples||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Enriched flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Melted butter/Margarine||1 Tablespoon|
|California walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), broken|
|Pitted dates||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), cut up|
Combine all ingredients.
Mix thoroughly do not beat.
Turn into greased 8x8x2 inch pan.
Bake in hot oven (400Â°) 40 minutes, or till apples are tender (test with fork).
Cut in 6 to 8 squares.
Serve with whipped cream.
