Date Nut Torte
|Bread crumbs||2 Tablespoon|
|Sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts/Chopped pecans||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Chopped dates||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Egg whites||8 , stiffly beaten|
1 Preheat the oven to 325° F.
2 Lightly grease a 9-inch spring-form pan and dust it with the bread crumbs.
3 In a bowl, beat the egg yolks.
4 Gradually add in the sugar, beating until thick.
5 In another bowl, combine the nuts, dates and flour.
6 Gradually stir into the egg-yolk mixture.
7 Working thoroughly, fold in the egg whites.
8 Transfer the batter into the prepared pan.
9 Bake for 40 minutes.
10 Allow to cool and carefully remove the sides of the pan.
11 Slice and serve.
