Apple & Maple Torte
|Chopped apples||1 Cup (16 tbs), cut into 1/2 inch chunks|
|Finely chopped pecans/Walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Pure maple syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Whole wheat flour/Unbleached white flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Whipped cream/Applesauce||3 Tablespoon|
Combine apples, nuts, maple syrup and vanilla extract in a medium-sized bowl. Stir well.
Mix together flour and baking powder. Add to apples and nuts. Mix thoroughly.
Turn batter into a greased 9-inch pie plate. Bake at 350° F. for 30 to 40 minutes.
Let cool 10 minutes before slicing into wedges. Serve garnished with whipped cream or applesauce:.
