Apple & Maple Torte

Ingredients
  Chopped apples 1 Cup (16 tbs), cut into 1/2 inch chunks
  Finely chopped pecans/Walnuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Pure maple syrup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  Whole wheat flour/Unbleached white flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Whipped cream/Applesauce 3 Tablespoon
Directions

Combine apples, nuts, maple syrup and vanilla extract in a medium-sized bowl. Stir well.
Mix together flour and baking powder. Add to apples and nuts. Mix thoroughly.
Turn batter into a greased 9-inch pie plate. Bake at 350° F. for 30 to 40 minutes.
Let cool 10 minutes before slicing into wedges. Serve garnished with whipped cream or applesauce:.
