Black Forest Torte
|Unsifted all purpose flour||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Soda||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Baking powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Soft margarine||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs) (Containing Liquid Safflower Oil)|
|Water||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Unsweetened chocolate square||4 , melted and cooled|
Measure flour, sugar, soda, salt, baking powder, margarine, water and vanilla into a large mixing bowl.
Beat at low speed to blend, then beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides and bottom of bowl frequently.
Add eggs; beat 2 minutes longer.
Brush sides and bottom of 4 9-inch layer cake pans with margarine.
Pour 1/4 of the batter (little over 1 cup) into each pan.
Layers will be thin.
Bake at 350° for 17-20 minutes, until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool slightly, and remove from pans.
