Method Halve tomatoes and place them, cut side up, in a buttered ovenproof baking dish.
Dot with butter and sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
Bake in a hot oven (425Â°F) for 15 minutes, or until tomatoes are just tender and the sugar has caramelized slightly.
