Old-Fashioned Sliced Tomatoes
|Tarragon vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
1) Slice the tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices.
2) In a large shallow serving dish, place half of the tomato slices and dredge with half the sugar, salt, and pepper.
3) Place remaining tomato slices on top and dredge with rest of sugar, salt, and pepper.
4) Dribble with vinegar over top.
5) Cover the serving dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
6) Serve cold sprinkle with chopped basil leave if desired.
