Toffee Apples

Ingredients
  Eating apples 8
  Granulated sugar 1 Pound
  Golden syrup 3 Tablespoon
  Water 1⁄4 Pint
Directions

MAKING
1. Into the stalk end of each apple, insert a wooden skewer and push each of the skewers halfway through into the apple
2. In a saucepan, measure the sugar, golden syrup and water ad stir over a low flame till the sugar dissolves
3. Turn the heat up and allow to come to a boil; cook rapidly until it begins to caramelise
4. Turn the heat off and immediately dip the apples into it one by one; drain fom the pan and allow the apples to stanf on a buttered baking tray
5. When cool, wrap each pf the apples in a square of waxes paper and tie an elastic band around it

SERVING
6. Serve as appropriate
