Most Wonderful Toffee
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
Cook together butter, sugar and water until mixture turns caramel color or 300 degrees on candy thermometer.
Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 amount of nuts.
Pour into a buttered 13x9x2 baking dish.
Sprinkle on 1/2 package of chocolate chips, and let stand for a few minutes until chips melt.
Spread chips and cover with wax paper.
Turn dish over and spread remainder of chocolate chips and nuts over top.
Let cool until mixture is hard, then break into pieces.
