Caramel Apple Bars

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs), divided
  Firmly packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (1 stick)
  Eggs 2 Large
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  Golden delicious apples 2 , cored and chopped (Rainier Fruit)
  Caramel candies 1 Cup (16 tbs), each cut in quarters
  Chopped walnuts/Pecans 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
2. In a medium-size bowl, combine 1 cup flour and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.Transfer mixture to the pan and press down in an even layer. Bake for 10 minutes.
3. In the same mixing bowl, beat eggs.Stir in vanilla, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup flour. Stir in apples, caramels and nuts. Pour over the bottom crust. Bake 30-35 minutes, or until golden. Cool slightly; cut into quarters lengthwise and crosswise. Cool completely.
