Caramel Toffee Apples

  Golden delicious apples/Red apple 3
  Plain flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cornflour 2 Tablespoon
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sesame seeds 2 Teaspoon
  Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying)

Put the sugar, 2 tbsp oil and 1/2 cup of water in a pan and cook on a high flame.
When the mixture begins to bubble, stir continuously to prevent the sugar from burning.
Continue stirring the pan until the syrup is light brown in colour and feels sticky when felt between the thumb and the fore finger.
It forms a thread when the finger is pulled apart.
Remove from the heat, add the sesame seeds and mix well.
Keep the caramel syrup aside.
Mix the plain flour, cornflour and baking powder in a bowl.
Add enough water to get a smooth, thick batter of a coating consistency.
Peel and cut the apples into four pieces.
Remove the seeds.
Heat oil for frying.
Coat the apple pieces evenly with the batter and deep fry 5-6 pieces together at one time, in hot oil until golden.
Keep a serving bowl filled with ice cubes ready and cover with water.
Put the fried apples in the caramel syrup and coat evenly.
Drain well and dip immediately into the ice cubes bowl.
Keep for a few minutes till the caramel coating hardens.
Drain thoroughly.
Keep aside till serving time.
