In a small bowl, combine tomatoes, basil, capers and pepper.
Arrange bread slices on an ungreased baking sheet.
Drizzle 1 teaspoon olive oil on each slice.
Using half of the tomato mixture, spoon some on each bread slice.
Top each slice of bread with a slice of cheese.
Spoon remaining tomato sauce over each piece.
Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 375-degree oven 8 minutes, or until bread is hot and cheese is melted.
Watch carefully so it doesn't bum.
