Angels and Devils on Horseback
|Thinly sliced, fully cooked ham strips||1⁄2 Pound|
|Bacon slices||3⁄4 Pound|
|Thin rye bread slices||12 Medium|
Wrap 24 oysters in bacon to make the devils.
Wrap remaining 24 oysters in ham strips for the angels.
Place bacon-wrapped oysters on a broiler pan.
Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat source 3 minutes, or until bacon is crisp on top side.
Turn bacon-wrapped oysters, and add ham-wrapped oysters to pan.
Broil 2 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and ham is lightly browned.
Remove bacon-wrapped oysters, drain on paper towels, keep warm.
Turn ham-wrapped oysters.
Broil 1 or 2 minutes, or until brown on second side.
Meanwhile, lightly toast bread, cut each slice into 4 triangles.
Place one oyster on each toast triangle.
