Steps to Shred Brisket
Cook brisket in a crock-pot, slow cooker or in the oven.
Place cooked brisket on the cutting board and slice away excess fat.
Using two forks shred the meat. Put in one fork into the meat piece. In the other hand (dominant), hold the second fork and pull away meat in layers.
Keep inserting fork in various places and shredding the meat in batches until the entire brisket is shredded.
Instead of a fork, a knife or cleaver can also be inserted into the cooked brisket, especially if the piece of meat is large and a fork might not be enough to stabilize it.
