Though popcorns take just a few minutes to pop, negligence even by a minute leads to a toasted version of the same. Soon there are flames and fumes and that horrible burnt smell. So how does one remove burnt popcorn smell from home? I can tell you, because I am now a pro at it!

Step 1: The first thing to do to remove burnt popcorn smell from the home is to open the doors and the windows and let the fresh air in. If this is not done fast enough, the smell will just hang around in the place and last for a long time. Leaving the fan on is also a good thing to do as this helps in removing burnt popcorn smell from the house.

Step 2: Also remember to leave the microwave door open and to let all the smell escape. If you put it off for later, the entire microwave will stink of burnt popcorns a little later. Opening the door will help remove burnt popcorn smell.

Step 3: Collect the popcorn and throw it in the trash outside, this way you will get the house rid of burnt popcorn smell seeping in. If you do not act fast, then the smell of the burnt popcorn will engulf the entire house and will be there for many days to come, so another way to remove burnt popcorn smell from the home is to clean the microwave up completely.

Step 4: While removing the smell of burnt popcorn you have to first get some water in a microwaveable container and then heat it with some lime juice. Once the lime water heats up, the vapors will spread all around the microwave and removing burnt popcorn that is stuck to the sides. Clean the microwave throughly and if possible air it out completely. Alternatively you can also wipe the insides of the microwave with vinegar as this plays a major role in removing burnt popcorn smell from home.

Step 5: You can also place small bowls of vinegar all around the house, as this will help remove burnt popcorn smell from home.
