Smoking venison is an easy affair! Thanks to my neighbor who taught me how to smoke venison. This yummy smoked venison recipe will knockout anyone who eats it. Here’s how to smoke venison. How to smoke venison
Things required for smoking venison
Bowl
Fresh venison
Hardwood pieces
1/2 cup salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp. spices
4 tbsp. soy or Worcestershire sauce
How to smoke venison
Step 1: In a bowl mix the salt, sugar and your choice of spices. Then add the soy or Worcestershire sauce and stir to blend thoroughly.
Step 2: Thinly slice the venison. Remove any fat and connecting tissue.
Step 3:  Add the venison to the spice mixture and coat the meat evenly and marinade in the refrigerator overnight.
Step 4:  Arrange your smoker by bringing the temperature up to 170 degrees. Soak the hardwood pieces in water while the smoker is reaching the desired temperature. This will help create the smoke needed for flavoring the meat.
Step 5:  Take out the hardwood pieces from the water. Make sure to shake off any excess moisture and lay these pieces on the coals. In case you are using electric smoker, put the pieces in the tray provided.
Step 6: Drain the venison to get rid of the excess moisture. Set the venison slices in a single layer on the rack of the smoker.
Step 7: Next, dry the venison for about 8 hours till it has reached the preferred consistency.
