Raisin Tea Ring

Ingredients
  Flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Sugar 5 Tablespoon
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon (Royal)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Shortening 3 Tablespoon
  Egg 1
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs), washed, drained and floured
  Chopped nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

MAKING
2. Sieve in all the dry ingredients. Mix raisins. Mix beaten egg and melted shortening to milk and add this to dry mixture to prepare a soft dough. Gently, roll the dough out with ½ inch thickness. Divide the rolled out dough into two long strips and twist the strips to shape up a ring.
3. Take a greased pan, place the ring in it, top with nuts and sugar and let the ring stand for 20 minutes.
4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

SERVING
5. Serve warm.
