Summer Shimmer Tart
|Unflavored gelatin||1 Tablespoon|
|Orange juice||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Grated orange peel||1 Teaspoon|
|Grated lemon peel||1 Teaspoon|
|Strawberries||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Seedless grapes||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Cantaloupe||1 Small, cut in balls|
|Sour half and half||1⁄2|
|Raw sugar/Brown sugar||1 Tablespoon|
Select a large, 11 inch round platter to compose this dessert.
Soften gelatin in cold orange juice.
Heat over hot water until dissolved.
Stir in lemon juice, sugar, and orange and lemon peel.
Let cool slightly.
Slice nectarines and plums and arrange a circle of slices around the outer edge creating a pinwheel effect.
Pour over enough gelatin to hold fruit in place and chill.
When set, arrange hulled strawberries in a design in the center by placing a whole berry in the center and surrounding with halved berries, cut side up.
Scatter grapes and melon balls over all.
Pour over remaining gelatin and chill until set.
Cut in wedges to serve.
Accompany with sour half and half and raw or brown sugar to sprinkle over it.
