|Almonds||1⁄8 Cup (2 tbs)|
|Lemon, rind||1 , grated|
|Currants||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sultanas||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Line a dish with short pastry.
To prepare the filling: place all the ingredients (except the butter) in a bowl an hour before needed.
Stir well and leave.
When required, fill the tart with the mixture, break the butter up into small pieces over the top, then cover with the remaining short pastry and bake for 30 — 40 minutes at 400° F.
Remove from oven.
Brush over with a mixture of 2 tblspns, sugar and 1 tblspn, milk.
Return to oven for a few minutes.
Serve hot with cream or custard.
