Molasses Taffy

Ingredients
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Light molasses 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Water 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Vinegar 2 Teaspoon
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Butter sides of heavy 3-quart saucepan.
In it mix sugar, molasses, and water.
Heat slowly, stirring constantly, till boiling.
Stir in vinegar, cook to soft crack stage (270°).
Remove from heat.
Add 2 tablespoons butter; sift in soda and mix.
Pour into buttered 15 1/2 X 10 1/2 x l-inch pan.
Cool till easy to handle.
Butter hands; gather taffy into ball.
Pull.
When golden and hard to pull, cut in fourths.
Pull into strands about 1/2 inch thick.
With buttered scissors, snip into bite-size pieces.
Wrap in waxed paper.
