Eastern Townships Maple Syrup Pie
|Pastry for a double crust 9 inch pie||1 (For 2 Crust)|
|Maple syrup||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Boiling water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Corn starch||3 Tablespoon|
|Cold water||3 Tablespoon|
|Chopped nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Combine maple syrup and water; boil 5 minutes.
Mix cornstarch and cold water; stir into boiling mixture.
Bring again to boiling and stir until thickened.
Add butter; stir until melted.
Pour into pie shell.
Sprinkle nuts over top.
Cover with top pastry.
Bake at 400Â°F 30 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
