|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Boiling water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cook the sugar in a frying pan over a low fire, stirring constantly until melted to a dark golden brown.
Remove from the heat and add the boiling water gradually stirring as added.
Return to the heat, and stir until smooth.
This sirup is used in flavoring ice cream, custard, cornstarch pudding, etc.
