Don't have eggs in your pantry and you wann make koeksisters? Welcome to BakingMama collection of eggless recipes. This recipe of koeksisters will guide you to prepare even more flavorful koeksisters without eggs for you and your loved ones.
  Flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Baking powder 2 Tablespoon
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Butter 1 Tablespoon

Rub butter into sifted, dry ingredients till mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs and mix with water.
Leave dough to stand for 1 hour.
Roll out.
Cut into lengths and plait.
Fry a few at a time in hot oil.
Lift, drain and plunge into chilled syrup.
The syrup is made of 8 cups sugar and 4 cups water, stirred in a saucepan until the sugar is dissolved.
Add 1 heaped tspn, cream of tartar and boil rapidly for 5 minutes.
Remove from the stove and add 2 large tblspns, golden syrup and 1 dssrtspn.
ground ginger (if liked).
Cool and chill.
