Nutty Syrup Dainties
|Flaked cereal||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Golden syrup||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Blanched salted peanuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Put flakes and peanuts into a large greased mixing bowl and stir.
Meanwhile, cook sugar and syrup in pan over low heat, stirring con- stantly till sugar is melted and mixture boils, which should take about 5 minutes.
Add butter and mix well.
Pour hot syrup over flake and nut mixture, stirring thoroughly.
Press into 2 greased shallow square pans.
Allow to cool and cut into rectangular bars when cold.
