Grandma's Frosted Sugar Cookies
|Shortening||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sifted flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Coffee frosting||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Cream the shortening, vanilla and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and milk.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Blend into the creamed mixture.
Chill the dough, covered, for at least 1 hour before baking.
Roll 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface.
Cut with a cookie cutter.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove to a wire rack to cool.
Frost the cooled cookies with Coffee Frosting.
