Sugar Plums is a recipe that can be prepared in nearly no time. Try this Sugar Plums recipe; I am sure you will have a huge fan following for this one!
  Butter/Margarine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Confectioner's sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sifted
  Vanilla 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Enriched flour 2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Oats 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Quick Uncooked)
  Candied cherries 30

Beat butter until creamy; add sugar gradually, beating until smooth.
Add vanilla.
Sift together flour & salt; add to butter mixture, mixing thoroughly.
Stir in rolled oats, mixing until blended.
Dough will be quite stiff.
Shape into balls around candied cherries.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheets in 325 degree oven for about 15 minutes.
Start them on a rack in about the middle of the oven, then shift them to a higher rack until they are delicately browned.
Ovens vary, therefore the baking depends much on the oven.
While still warm, roll in sifted confectioner's sugar.
Sometimes it seems necessary to roll the cookies twice in the sugar.
