Drop Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Semi-sweet chocolate 2 Cup (32 tbs), snipped (semisweet pieces chopped peanuts or other nuts raisins or apricots or desired combination)
Directions

In a large mixing bowl stir together the flour, baking soda, salt, cream of tartar, and nutmeg; set aside.
In a large mixer bowl beat butter or margarine with electric mixer for 30 seconds.
Add sugar and beat till fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Gradually add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating well after each addition.
Stir in chocolate pieces, nuts, or fruit, if desired.
Drop sugar cookie dough from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet.
Bake in a 375° oven for 10 minutes or till edges are golden; cool on a wire rack.
