Deluxe Sugar Cookies
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs), softened|
|Confectioner’s sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Cream of tartar||1 Teaspoon|
|Granulated sugar||1 (as required)|
Mix thoroughly butter, confectioners' sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract.
Blend in flour, soda and cream of tartar.
Cover; chill 2 to 3 hours.
Heat oven to 375Â°.
Divide dough in half.
Roll each half 3/16 inch thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board.
Cut into desired shapes; sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until light brown on edge.
