Easy No-Roll Sugar Cookies
|Butter/Regular margarine||1 Cup (16 tbs), softened|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
Preheat oven to 400F.
In large bowl of electric mixer, at medium speed, cream butter with sugar and egg until very light and fluffy.
Sift flour with salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar right into bowl.
Beat at low speed until well combined; beat in vanilla.
Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cook- ie sheet.
Dip bottom of glass in sugar and press cookies to flatten slightly.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until golden.
Cool on wire rack.
Makes 4 dozen.
