Broiled Fresh Figs With Brown Sugar

Ingredients
  Seedless oranges 2 (Sections From The Fruit, For Garnishing)
  Calimyrna figs 8 (Golden Skins, Amber Pulp)
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Use a knife to peel the oranges thickly to remove both the peel and the outer membrane.
Cut the sections out of the rest of the encasing membrane with a serrated fruit knife.
Slice the tough little stems off the figs, and cut the figs in half.
Place them in a baking dish, cut sides up.
Sprinkle each one with brown sugar and broil them in a preheated broiler until the sugar begins to caramelize.
Divide the figs among 4 dessert plates and garnish them with orange sections.
