Amelia Ceja takes a Brix (Sugar) reading of Ceja Vineyards' Carneros Chardonnay vineyard using a refractometer. The grapes are almost ready to harvest for a perfect wine that is low in alcohol and pair with all cuisine!!
1) Crush the grapes and completely mash in the packet.
2) Pour the juice into a wine glass.
3) Take a few drops and place on the refractometer and read the brix. That reads 20 and shall be ready to harvest in about 4 weeks.
4) The grapes are typically harvested at about 24 brix, so that the wines are low in alcohol and pair with all cuisine.
