Newton Sugar Squares
|Soft butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Cream butter with 1 cup sugar; add eggs and beat well.
Add sifted dry ingredients and buttermilk; mix well.
Spread in greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan; sprinkle with remaining sugar.
Bake in hot oven (400°F.) about 20 minutes.
Cool; cut in 40 cookies about 2 inches square.
