Easy Sugar Cookies
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Cream of tartar||1 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Cream together sugar and shortening.
Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
Combine flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
Form dough into 1 inch balls, flatten to cookie.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Top with walnut halves or candied cherries, if desired.
Bake at 325° for 14 to 16 minutes
