This recipe for english mincemeat is prepared with kidney suet along with apples, currants and raisins. Mixed along with mixed fruit peels and spices like nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and brownsugar , the enlish mincemeat can be stored in the fridge in a jar.
|Currants||1 Pound, dried|
|Seedless raisins||1 Pound|
|Apples||3 Large, chopped|
|Peel||1 Pound (Mixed Fruit Peel)|
|Kidney suet||1 Pound, chopped|
|Lemon||1 , juiced and peel grated|
|Brown sugar||1 Pound|
|Ground nutmeg||To Taste|
Wash currants and raisins.
Chop apples without removing skins.
Combine all ingredients.
Turn into a large covered jar.
Store in refrigerator.
