English Bread Sauce
|Soft bread crumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ground mace||1 Pinch|
|Light cream||1 Tablespoon|
1.Take a double broiler, put milk in its top part and put an onion stuck with clove, until milk is scalded.
2.Add mace and crumbs and blend well.
3.Put half butter and season it by adding salt and pepper.
4.Let the ingredients cook for 20 minutes.
Blend all this while.
5.Put cream and remaining butter.
6.Take out the onion and clove and discard it.
7.Use as desired.
