|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Unflavored gelatin||1 Ounce (1 Envelope)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Heavy cream||1 Cup (16 tbs), whipped|
|Lady fingers/Pound cake||4|
1 Wash and hull the strawberries, reserving some for garnish.
2 Slice the remainder.
3 In a bowl, put the strawberries and sprinkle with sugar.
4 Toss lightly.
5 Allow to stand.
6 In a bowl, soften gelatin in water.
7 Drain the juice from the berries.
8 Add in the gelatin mixing well.
9 Transfer to a pan and heat to dissolve.
10 Add in the sliced strawberries and lemon juice.
11 Let cool until syrupy.
12 Fold the strawberry mixture into cream.
13 On the base of a 1 quart mold, arrange lady fingers or 1" strips of pound cake.
14 Fill with strawberry mixture.
15 Place in the refrigerator and chill.
16 Carefully unmold on a serving dish.
17 Serve garnished with extra berries.
