If you love to use herbs in your cuisines, you must have felt the need to dry lemongrass, since dry lemongrass is easy to store. Learn how to dry lemongrass for later use so that you can include it in your recipes whenever you feel like and enjoy the taste of this herb. Lemongrass is actually a herb which is used in several Asian cuisines. Drying lemongrass is a way of preserving this herb for later use.


One of the easiest ways to dry lemongrass is by placing them in an oven at 120 degree F for at least 3 hours. This is enough to dry the lemongrass so that you can use them whenever you feel like in your different recipes. However, when you are drying lemongrass in your oven, you need to remember that the doors of the oven need to be slightly cracked so that the moisture is let out easily. You should also keep checking the dry lemongrass very frequently, to ensure that moisture does not seep in and it is dry always during the process. Once you find that the lemongrass is well dried, you can remove it from the oven and store it in an airtight bag or even a glass bottle with a tight lid, so that the lemongrass is in good condition for a long time.


In case you do not have an oven or you do not find this process of drying lemongrass easy, you can take help of a dehydrator. Check the instructions mentioned on the dehydrator so that you can learn how to dry herbs and similar things in the most effective manner. Dehydrator is considered to be very suitable when you have a huge quantity to dry. Moreover, using a dehydrator to dry lemongrass is considered to be the easiest option.


Another very easy way of drying lemongrass is to hang it upside down, just as you hang flowers. This can be done till you find that the lemongrass has dried as per your needs. You can now store these dried herbs in a cool and very dry place so that you can use them later on.
