Steaming frozen dumplings

The process of re-steaming the frozen dumplings needs to be carried out with care if one wants to have a plate of fresh tasty dumplings. The process has been discussed in detail below.

-Boil water in the bottom reservoir of the steamer. The boiling water should be enough to last for 25 to 30 minutes of cooking. A half full reservoir depending on the size of the reservoir may be enough, because we do not want the dumplings to come in direct contact of the water.

-Once the water has been kept for boiling, place the dumplings in the steamer tray. Before placing the dumplings, take care to dip the bottom part of the dumplings in vegetable oil so that the dumpling do not stick to the steamer tray or rip apart.

-Take care to ensure that the dumplings do not touch each other or the sides of the steamer. This is because during the steaming process the dumplings tend to inflate a little, so care needs to be taken that the dumplings do not touch each other or the sides of the steamer.

-Once the water has been boiled, carefully place the steamer trays inside the steamer so that the dumplings are on top of the bottom reservoir and close the steamer lid.

-Steam the dumplings for 25 minutes and do not open the lid or fiddle with the gas during these 25 minutes.

-After 25 minutes, open the lid carefully and remove the tray(s) and spread them around on the kitchen counter. Take care that you do not get burned with hot steam.

-Immediately start fanning the dumplings quickly and steadily until the dumplings are no longer sticky to touch. Use something light to fan the dumplings. Fan the dumplings for at least 30 seconds or one minute.

-Pick the dumplings carefully using tongs and place them on the serving plates. If it is difficult to pick up the dumplings or if the dumplings are ripping apart then use some sort of a spatula to lift the dumplings.

-Serve with soy sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup, sour cream etc. you can either ladle the dumplings with the condiments or serve them in a small bowl.

Steaming frozen dumpling does not take more than 35 minutes, and it is a great way to enjoy a quick snack when you are running short of time or looking for some options for side dishes.
