Almonds are the wholesome exotic nuts, with a wide range of cosmetic and culinary uses. Whether they are soaked, peeled or dry roasted, almonds serve as a fulsome crunchy delight. In order to bring out their full flavor, you can dry roast slivered almonds. Here is how:


Here is a simple step-by-step procedure to dry roast slivered almonds:


a. Chop almonds into slivers with a sharp knife. You can choose whether to chop them in peeled or unpeeled state.

b. Preheat your oven to 300 degree Fahrenheit.

c. Spread the almond slivers on a non-greasy cookie tray and bake for about ten minutes or till the slivers turn light brown. Keep in mind that the slivered almonds will continue roasting for a while after being removed from the oven.

d. If you don't want to use an oven, just use a non-stick flat-bottomed pan and a wooden spatula and dry roast the slivered almonds over low heat. But don't forget to keep stirring the slivers, lest some of these get burnt.


Uses of roasted almond slivers:


You can use these slivers to decorate a variety of dishes as well as a mid-day snack. Some of the dishes where you can use these roasted delights are:
