Frontier Stew

  Ground beef 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Bacon drippings 1 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Medium, peeled and chopped
  Green bell pepper 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), seeded and chopped
  Garlic/1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 Clove (5 gm), peeled and minced
  Chopped celery 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Chili powder 1 Tablespoon
  Granulated sugar 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Black pepper To Taste
  Canned whole tomatoes 16 Ounce (1 Can, Undrained)
  Canned whole kernel corn 16 Ounce (1 Can, Undrained)
  Canned ranch style beans 32 Ounce (1 Can, Undrained)
  Potatoes 6 Medium, peeled and cubed
  Water 3 Cup (48 tbs)

Brown ground beef in bacon drippings, separating meat with a fork as it cooks.
Add onion, green pepper, garlic and celery; cook until vegetables are soft.
Add chili powder, sugar, salt and pepper; mix well.
Add tomatoes with their liquid, breaking them up with a knife or the back of a spoon.
Add corn, beans, potatoes and water.
Bring to a boil, stirring well.
Reduce heat.
Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender.
Stir occasionally during cooking.
